There are 3 main modes of transport;
The Scillonian, a 450 capacity ferry. It’s usual times are 0915 from Penzance arriving at 12, and 1630 from IOS arriving back in Penzance about 1915. This is the most reliable service, though sea sickness tablets are advised. (A discount code is sent out when you register for the event)
Skybus - A plane from Lands End, Newquay or Exeter, direct to St Mary’s. Various flights throughout the day. (A discount code is sent out when you register for the event, valid for Land’s End flights only)
Penzance Helicoptor - Penzance to St Mary’s or Tresco. Various flights throughout the day.

This is often the hardest thing about the events on Scilly. Most events start and finish on St Mary’s, so for one less thing to worry about it is recommended to stay on St Mary’s.
If you are planning on staying ‘off island’ it is best to contact the local boating provider to see what boating is available and if they can get you to the race in time.

Apart from Walk Scilly, during 2026 we hope to livestream all the events for friends and family to follow along back home (or at work!)

All islands have short steep hills. 95% of the events on Scilly are on the coast path or trails, with a small amount of running on beaches/sand and road. Although the maximum elevation is only about 93m there are plenty of ups and downs throughout every island – it is hillier than you may think!

Nearly all races have very strict cut off’s. Please check your ability is suited to the event of your choice

Only swimrun events have aid stations. All other events participants must bring all they need to complete the event with them

At all events, there is the option to buy Scilly60 Events, Technical Caps, Cow Bells, Notebooks, Buffs, Stickers.
Most events have the chance to pre order T-shirts and Hoodies.

FAQ’s for Walk Scilly:

To be able to complete the walk, the group needs to walk at a pace of 12:30minutes per km or 3mph.
Should a walker be too slow then they may be asked to stop. This event is a good walking pace not a stroll. Though we do take time to take pictures and take in the scenery when we can.

With a start time of 0530, Participants need to stay on St Mary’s the night before and after the event

You need to carry all you need for each island. You can leave spare clothing, food, drink in your bag on the boat.

Yes. This event is designed for people to be able to pop over, exprience the magic of running around an island, before heading back home later in the day.
Of course, everyone is more than welcome to make a holiday from the event and stay for a few more days.

Last year runners had between 2 hours and 45 minutes before needing to head back to the Scillonian

No but there will be a water station at about 1/3 and 2/3’s of the way around the course. (Old Town and Pelistry).
You will need to bring your own collapsable cup/bottle.

The Scilly60% is based on a 8:30min/km or 13:20min/mile
The Scilly60/110 is based on 7:30min/km or 12min/mile

Each islands is a different distance apart and time apart as shown below. For events we also allow a short amount of time for getting on/off the boats.
St Marys - St Martins - 30mins.
St Martins - Tresco - 25mins
Tresco - Bryher - 10mins
Bryher to St Agnes - 35mins
St Agnes to St Marys - 15mins.

You need to carry all you need for each island. For most people this is a small water bottle and maybe a gel or two. You can leave spare clothing, food, drink in your bag on the boat. However this is YOUR event, there is no mandatory kit list apart from bringing 3litres of water onto the boat at the start. Bring what you need to complete the day.

No. Transport links do not give enough time in the day to complete the events. As such as a minimum you will need to arrive the day before (and go to registration) and leave the day after the event.
